Blake Industry and Market Analysis Pty Ltd (BIMA) was founded in
1998 by Mark Pachacz and David Blake, with the goal of delivering
independent investment research about pharmaceutical and biotechnology
companies to stockbrokers, fund managers and other clients. BIMA
is a licensed investment advisory firm with the Australian Investment
and Securities Commision.
In the first half of 2000, BIMA commenced publication of Bioshares,
a specialist investment magazine devoted to companies in the pharmaceutical
and biotechnology sector. The company has contributed to Australian
Biotechnology News, BRW, Shares, Shares Weekly, Lab News, Pharmacy
Trade, Phillips Fox Biotech Bulletin, Bionetwork and Genetic Engineering
News.
The company provides consultancy
services, in addition to commissioned research, and is committed
to being proactive with investment information it obtains with a
diverse range clients. Its clients have come from the global pharmaceutical
'Top Ten', London based investment firms and local stockbrokers
and biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
Since establishing BIMA, Mark
Pachacz and David Blake have gained a solid reputation for thoroughly

Blake and Pachacz have successfully harnessed skills in chemical
engineering and market and economic analysis, to training in investment
analysis to meet the demands of valuing and analysing one of the

Mark Pachacz is a chemical engineer
by training. He is a graduate of Monash University and the Securities
Institute of Australia.
From 1995 to 1998, David Blake was the Victorian Government's sole
Housing Market Analyst, responsible for monitoring trends in Victoria's
housing markets. He produced the highly regarded 'Rental Report'.
David is a graduate of
the University of Queensland and the University of Melbourne, and
the Securities Institute of Australia.
